Come on Saturday to help sell, to help serve lunch, to buy! For Confirmation Students this year, I will give you 1/2 credit for hours worked for your confirmation community service hours (so if you work 4 hours I will give you 2 hours credit toward Confirmation community Service).
New Lights!
Folks were there today replacing lights with new energy effecient lights. They have most of the lights on the main floor done. They will finish by the end of the day on Monday. It's brighter in all the rooms! It really does make a difference!
The Fall Bazaar and Rummage Sale - what can "I" do to help?
The first meeting of the planning committee for the Fall Bazaar and Rummage Sale met today, and decided on a date of October 16th, 2010. Mark your calendar now, and start thinking about how you can be a part of this event.
Here are some ideas:
* When you clean your closets and cabinets, set aside things for the sale.
* If you make jams, jellies or syrups consider setting some aside for the sale.
* Are you a crafter? Do you sew, knit, crochet, etc? If so, start making things now to be sold for the good of the church and its ministry.
Christmas In July
Ok, people have told me for the most part that they never quite know what to expect from me, only that I will do the unexpected. People also know that I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Christmas is when we celebrate that God; the God who created all we see and more, the God whose breath IS LIFE, the God who loves us more than we can ever imagine, the God who IS from before time began, this God came to us as a baby, a small weak, helpless baby. The reason? God loves us! That's all, simply God loves us. It's an amazing thing when you take the time to think about it.
